               Mukutmanipur is situated at the confluence of Kumari and Kangsabati and shares borders with Jharkhand. A small serene town that it is, it draws many tourists who come here looking for a quiet holiday. The Mukutmanipur dam is said to be the second-largest dam in the world, while the man-made dam here, which canalizes the Kumari and Kangsabati river water for irrigation purposes in the nearby districts of Bankura, Purulia, and Medinipur, is also the second-largest of its kind during the summer.

             Somehow about 230 km away from Kolkata, spend a weekend in Nature's lap apart from the busy schedule and Mobile's restless beeps. In Mukutmanipur, there is a picturesque vast bluish stretch of water surrounded by green forests and hills and you can't resist but keep clicking relentlessly as long as your gadget tells you to shrink. A long silence accompanied by a romantic evening stroll with dim lights and a peaceful breeze with your loved ones.
How to Reach
         Bankura is the closest station to this point. From Howrah, you can board the Rupashibangla Express to Bankura from where you can either take a bus or rent a car to get to Mukutmanipur which is only 45 kilometers away.

                            Baghmundi   

          Baghmundi, a village, has a police station in the Baghmundi Block in Purulia District, West Bengal, India. The Ajodhya Hills extend through the regions of Baghmundi and Balarampur.  Purulia district forms the Chota Nagpur Plateau's lowest phase. The general scenario is land undulated with scattered hills. Subdivision Jhalda, shown alongside in the map, is situated in the western part of the district, bordering Jharkhand. A small stretch of its western border flows along the Subarnarekha.

Ayodhya Hills

        Ayodhya is a famous tourist destination situated 40 km from Purulia via Sirkabad. It is a woody mountain, on top of which there is table ground. Several small streams make their way through the slopes of the hill to reach Subarnarekha on the west and from the northern slope to Kangsabati and Kumari.
                  It is a solid 700 m above sea level, and you can imagine just how clean and beautiful the air would be up there! There are sparkling streams of freshwater and springs here so when you get there, you know where to set up your tents! Rock climbing and mountaineering are the perfect things to participate in there.
               Ayodhya Hills Trek is a weekend trek toward Ayodhya's sacred hills. It was once considered a rock climbers' hot spot and has now become popular with trekkers and travelers alike. The distinctive rugged mountain features combine perfectly with the greenery canopy for which Purulia is renowned.

Gajaburu Hills

             For rock climbers, Gajaburu Hills is the next best paradise thing. The Gajaburu slopes are steep, rough and rugged, which will be a fun challenge for tourists looking for a place of excitement and adventure while camping or picnicking. There is also a nature camp here, which will show you how beautiful the surrounding areas of Gajaburu are. By Car from Kolkata, it'll take you 7-8 hours through Durgapur to Raghunathpur Highway.
Surulia

       A popular picnic spot for travelers, Surulia has been established by the forest department and is popular with eco-tourists. Just 6kms away from the main town, the eco-park is situated on the bank of the river Kangsabati, has a deer park and a tourist cottage inside, and has seen a large number of visitors.

Bamni Falls

          The scene shows the unblemished beauty of nature when it is not ravaged by human habitation. This reflects the energy, the spirit and the joy of nature. The air is hot and humid. The scent is of spruce trees that surround the waterfall, the lake, and the soggy, damp air. The sound of running water is all that can be heard. The stream, making its way around, over and through the rocks, makes a beautiful sound. Green bushes cover the hill where large rocks are not visible. Below the trees, there are signs of erosion, where the flowing water has taken the soil down the hill.

Tugra Falls

               It's a cascading cascade of vapor. The water is very clear. You can see through it as if it were a piece of glass. The water flowed effortlessly as it dropped, having no issues with the massive drop. The elegant sapphire descent was simply stunning to watch. Every drop of water had come down with its own clarity, making a huge splash on the level surface below. This Tugra waterfall looks like a downpour from a clear sky. In order to strike it, the massive spray from below shot up to the sky. It's really fun watching. The torrent of water was like a waterfall of relentless rain. The drop-down was freezing, slipping, and scratching to those brave enough to look at it.
